With very small and hidden sign, I finally made to the entrance of the gallery. However, the big smiles from the reception cleared up all the difficult journey to the gallery. From the reception, it felt like the gallery was going to be narrow and small but the moment when they opened the door for you it seemed I have entered to another world. The first impression of the room was quite dark and empty as the space seems too big with little artworks displaying around, also questioning the way they arrange the work was kind of bizarre to me. On the other hand, it did not feel like all the work was too in your face, that was probably why I felt like empty of the gallery. Not quite sure if it was near the closing time, people who working in the gallery seem more relaxing and not paying too much attention to the visitors.
The green door half opening with different shapes of handles on it, Ugo Rondinone's lax low lullaby was the only one artwork I spent the most time as I found it the most interesting out of the whole gallery. I was in my own imagination of the confusing faces from my friends when they were going for toilet if the door was my bathroom door. The different handles illustrate alive with ambiguity from Rondinone which are heavily fortified and it seems like a theatrical pop. Another artwork I found it very cleaver and useful was the Belts Couch by Monica Bonvicini, using her unusual imagination she made this brilliant couch I could really just put it anywhere in my flat. However, I thought It would have been more interesting if she used different colours or materials of belts to add some surprises. Surprisingly finding Lee Bul's chandelier Sternbau No. 3 around the corner of the ceiling near the stairs, It catched my eyes straight away as the shiny crystal and glasses combined of the shape I just could not keep my eyes off it. The elegance of the chandelier seemed to speak out for itself, it was speechlessly stunning piece of work and I would like to purchase one home if I could.
After finishing the new decor, Ernesto Neto's The Edge of The World seemed more like a playground for me and I would much prefer to downstairs' The New Decor. There was a little girl running around the place and she just took me back to my childhood time which was only happy times and without caring anything. I suppose that was the artist trying to express the feeling to the visitors, I thought they did a great job that everyone seemed very enjoying themselves by the place.
In short, I felt like I had a great time in Hayward gallery even I was just quickly browsing around. With very small and hidden description of artworks, I thought they could done better for that. Moreover, certain artwork was out of order was not something visitors would like to see it when they had to spend the money for the exhibition. With the spaces they used between The New Decor and Ernesto Neto, I would like to suggest them to find a balance as I felt it was too empty in The New Decor and it was too crowded for Nrnesto Neto even the differences of sizes of artworks.

Welcome back boyfriends/husbands/lovers...
Finally world cup 2010 ended by Spain taking the biggest prize of the game for the first time!!!
Welcome back boyfriends, husbands and lovers as world cup 2010 has finally finished after five long weeks.
I believe this is the moment of all the waves, wags and girlfriends have been waiting for since two months ago. As our another half seemed more into the cold and flat TV screens to us and I am sure all the women are happy that the world cup is finished for another four years. Men lounging around with their mates in local pubs with London Pride, this is the way of how they call it as social life. Friend of mine who can be catalogued as a city boy who once told me that, people believe in God but he believes in football and beer, it brings happiness and great times to his stressful working life in London.
Sometimes, they even have it with their lunch or early afternoon, it shocked me when I was first living in England at age 17. I never seen anyone who having brunch with beers in the pub but here. Especially, city boys in their designer suits standing outside of the pubs with their briefcases which is the most interesting thing i find in London.
However, while men sitting around in the local pub with their ales women on the other hand going crazy about fashion. Women seems to be spending more money on their habits and looking for one more dress as the best example is Topshop in Oxford Circus. What really inspires me the most is, the punishment of men being absent at the pubs is to shop with their waves or girlfriends. Men with boredom waiting around the stores are the punishment from their love another half is awaiting outside of fitting room with loads carrying bags. I suppose all the men in the world is the same, they find shopping is the boring thing in the entire world.
London is the of freedom without caring what other people think of you, that is the reason I love about London. What inspires me the most is the multi-culture atmosphere of London, I feel like it is a magical city. The adventure of culture finding of London is continued...
Ps. Congratulation to Spain even I wish Argentina won, the most interesting of the whole world cup is Paul the Octopus. lol

My first two days so far...
Oh I think Im still jet lagged as I took the wrong direction of bus this morning and as a result I ended up being so late even I set off early. Oh well isn't it a good start of my second day huh? However, the jet lag seemed to have disappear as soon as I walked into 1304 classroom by seeing the keen learning class mates and the energetic teacher.
It is my second day since I joined the course, I have a good feeling that this summer will be a different one as I will be spending it with international course mates and a very Italian looking but posh English accent tutor. I have only been in the class for about six hours but I already feel the energy from the whole class and the atmosphere of study is great. Looking forward to progress more throughout the course with great company and a passionate English tutor.
Not quite sure how would I feel about the Surreal House if I did visit last week, I think I am quite reserved with certain things and I would definitely feel like a voyeur. However, I am in treat by the discussion of surrealism in the class and I probably would go and visit even I may skip some uncanny parts. What is special is that the whole exhibition demonstrates the surrealism by showing fantastic images and juxtapositions in order to serve unconscious thoughts and dreams.
I have been reading other people's blogs but this is my first blog, it is such a great idea of setting up a blog to exchange anything via networking site. I can see we will all get to know everyone better by writing, looking forward to see more from everyone. It is late now and my bed is calling. Hope you all have a great evening and see you tomorrow.
Night night and sweet dreams peeps :) xxx
